Advantech will continue integrating internal and external resources to strengthen its WISE-PaaS IoT software platform package

Advantech, the leader in intelligent systems, host the analyst meeting today. Thanks to IIoT products and services rising across the globe, Advantech successfully achieved its goal of double-digit US dollar revenue growth for two consecutive years (2017-2018). Going forward, the company aims to popularize, promote, and share the WISE-PaaS IoT software platform with key players in the global IIoT ecosystem to add unique value to its IoT hardware solutions. Also, Advantech will continue integrating internal and external resources to strengthen its WISE-PaaS IoT software platform package. The company looks forward to endorsing the implementation of IIoT across a variety of industries and will use the WISE-PaaS IoT software platform as a catalyst to enhance the value of IoT hardware solutions in the field.

Allan Yang, Chief Technology Officer of Advantech, pointed out that, “The software platform plays an indispensable role in the process of popularizing the Internet of Things. In 2019-2020, Advantech's WISE-PaaS platform will enter the phase of popularization and expansion of the brand in markets around the world, and looks forward to reaching the goal of more than 1,000 customers and partners joining the WISE-PaaS software platform by 2021. In certain fields such as smart factories, energy and environmental protection, smart hospitals, and smart cities, Advantech will strategically invest in IoT integrators to act as software and hardware integration platform providers and partners to accelerate the third wave of growth in IoT.”

Miller Chang, President of EIoT at Advantech, said that, “At the core of Advantech's boards and modules, the focus will be on extension services such as R&D resource integration and high value-added design-in services to optimize the overall product portfolio. Moreover, Advantech Technologies Japan (ATJ) joined the business after February 2019, so the integration of ATJ and Advantech resources and regional development in Japan will also be the focus of 2019.”

Linda Tsai, President of IIoT at Advantech, believes that, “The operational focus of IIoT is to expand the product application market and deepen the cultivation of the regional market. In the short term, it may be affected by the weakening demand in China; however, the technological upgrading of factories and infrastructure cannot be reversed, and long-term growth still looks positive. 2019 can be seen as a year of adjustment and product enhancement.”

Advantech’s North America business resumed its growth momentum in the second half of 2017 - where annual revenue for 2018 increased by 13% to reach US$445 million. Ween Niu, General Manager of Advantech North America, said that, “Because Advantech is a supplier that offers design-in services, all investment and cultivation will take two to three years for results to show. With the current scale of Advantech, there is still a lot of room for growth in the North America market; regarding future developments, the company will add multiple sales locations in North America, including Toronto, Chicago, Texas, the East Coast, and Mexico.”
