Advantech Delivers Higher Performance Network Security, Storage, and Edge Platforms based on AMD EPYC™ 7003 Series Processors
Advantech a global leader in AIoT, today announced a comprehensive portfolio of high-performance servers, motherboards and network appliances based on 3rd Gen AMD EPYC™ processors that set a new standard for the modern data center and network edge. The new off-the-shelf range includes high throughput network security appliances, short depth edge servers and hyper-converged infrastructure and storage platforms targeting edge to cloud deployments. In addition, service and solution providers can leverage Advantech’s strong hardware design and manufacturing capabilities to build server-class solutions tailored to deliver higher value to enterprise and industrial customers.
The new Advantech SKY servers and FWA appliances accelerate digital transformation by leveraging the exceptional per socket performance of AMD EPYC™ 7003 Series processors. Advantech’s new single and dual socket designs take advantage of up to 64 “Zen 3” cores per socket, 32MB of L3 cache and PCIe 4 connectivity to improve HPC, cloud and enterprise workload performance with high core density, I/O and memory throughput. The new platforms also integrate new security features through AMD Infinity Guard [1] such as Secure Encrypted Virtualization-Secure Nested Paging (SEV-SNP) that adds strong memory integrity protection capabilities to help prevent malicious hypervisor-based attacks. As a result, service and solution providers can deliver more efficient, lower TCO solutions that address today’s hybrid cloud computing, storage, networking and security needs.
Cloud, enterprise, industrial, healthcare, cybersecurity and video customers tapping into the new range can also leverage advanced hardware design capabilities from Advantech for faster time-to-market. Computing, storage and networking optimized platforms maximize performance, density and throughput for critical workloads. The new systems also integrate field-proven high reliability features from Advantech including advanced platform management and redundant BIOS and firmware images via on-board IPMI v2.0-compliant BMC with Redfish support that provide a safe way to recover from component failures and remote fail-safe updates.
