Advantech Unveils Next-Gen AI Box PC UNO-258
Advantech, a leading global provider of intelligent systems and edge computing solutions, is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the UNO-258, a compact fanless AI box PC powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Featuring integrated GPU and NPU acceleration, the UNO-258 delivers up to 180 platform TOPS to handle demanding edge AI workloads with greater efficiency and responsiveness. Designed for real-time data analytics and visual inspection, it combines rich I/O connectivity with rugged, industrial-grade reliability to drive next-generation smart manufacturing and AIoT deployments.
Intel Core Ultra Series 3 Processors Redefine Performance with Integrated AI Acceleration
Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors enable the UNO-258 to deliver up to 180 platform TOPS[1] of intelligence at the edge from its CPU, GPU, and NPU engines. With up to 16 cores, the CPU provides fast response for low-latency and real-time AI workloads, while built-in Intel Arc GPU with up to 12 Xe cores delivers high-throughput, parallel processing for multi-stream, high-volume analytics. The new NPU5 is tuned for increased power efficiency, sustaining intensive AI inference at low power to maximize performance. Working together, this multi-threaded architecture enables efficient edge AI tasks such as real-time image processing and end-to-end pipelines, significantly outperforming prior generations in low-power scenarios.
Comprehensive I/O for Seamless Integration
The UNO-258 is designed with rich, high-speed I/Os to simplify connectivity in complex industrial environments, featuring 1 x GbE LAN and 2 x 2.5GbE LAN ports alongside dual-channel DDR5 memory for fast, reliable data throughput. It offers three M.2 slots for wireless, storage, or AI accelerator modules; three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports; and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port to support high-bandwidth sensors, cameras, and expansion peripherals in factory automation, vision inspection, and remote monitoring scenarios.
To address different field requirements, the UNO-258 supports two flexible I/O board options: a PoE board for directly powering IP cameras and edge devices, or an isolated DIO/CANBUS/COM board for noise-resilient connectivity to legacy controllers, robots, and industrial networks. The modular internal layout makes RAM, storage, and add-on modules easy to install or replace, reducing integration time and maintenance overhead while enabling OEMs and system integrators to fine-tune configurations for machine vision inspection, predictive maintenance, and real-time equipment monitoring.
Ruggedized Design Ensures Reliability
To ensure compatibility for diverse usage scenarios, UNO-258 supports 12 ~ 24 VDC input power and a wide operating temperature range (-20 ~ 50 °C). Its optimized thermal design supports both fanless and fan-cooled configurations, enabling operation up to 45 W TDP to deliver scalable CPU/GPU performance. For robust field connectivity, the platform offers isolated COM, DIO, and CANBus interfaces, as well as dual PoE options to ensure stable and secure communication on the factory floor. Built-in support for Time-Coordinated Computing (TCC), Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), and in-band ECC further enhances deterministic real-time performance, synchronized motion control, and data integrity. Moreover, UNO-258 complies with key global EMC and safety standards, including CE, FCC, CB, UL, CCC, and BSMI, providing a reliable solution for mission-critical edge computing applications.
Advantech’s UNO-258 is scheduled to be launched in Q2, 2026
