Advantech,  to announce the release of its new USB-5801 DAQ module with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 capabilities

Audio Quality Testing Applications

Audio quality testing has been widely used in quality inspection of electronic products such as cellphone, earphone, speaker, and microphone. The sound must be checked as part of quality assurance during production. The testing process usually begins with sending a simulated signal (mostly Sine waves 100 ~ 10K Hz) to the tested product, and then using microphones to measure the sound output from the product. The acquired acoustic signals will also be converted for analysis in several different criteria like distortion, signal-to-noise ratio, frequency response and more to guarantee overall quality. Accordingly, to ensure a reliable and accurate audio quality test result, it’s crucial to choose the right DAQ modules.

USB-5801 audio quality testing features:

  1. Equipped with two 24-bit analog outputs with up to 192 kS/s update rate for providing simulated signals.
  2. Offers IEPE excitation, allowing direct connection to the microphone for acquiring signals.
  3. Provides 4-channels with 192 kS/s sample rate and simultaneous sampling capability, ideal for the acoustic measurement.
  4. 24-bit resolution ADCs with -94 dB THD+N enable precise measurements.
  5. Filter and AC/DC coupling function for noise reduction.
  6. Supports our machine condition monitoring software (WebAccess/MCM) for fast deployment of automated inspection systems.

Vibration Measurement Applications

Vibration measurement is widely applied in various fields such as structural analysis, mechanical system testing, automotive NVH testing, and machine condition monitoring. By digitizing the vibration signals using an accelerometer and DAQ modules, we can then analyze the digitized data with different algorithms in order to know the condition of the structure, mechanical properties, or machine. The performance of the measurement tools will greatly affect the accuracy of the analysis result, so Advantech’s new USB DAQ module with analysis software is the ideal solution for vibration measurement applications.

Advanetch’s USB-5801 DAQ module also provides a tachometer function for monitoring the rotational speed of motors in machine condition monitoring applications, making analysis more accurate.

USB-5801 vibration measurements features:

  1. Has 2-ch tachometer for measuring motor rotational speeds.
  2. Offers IEPE excitation, allowing direct connection to an accelerometer for acquiring signals.
  3. Provides 4-channels with 192 kS/s sample rates and simultaneous sampling capability, ideal for vibration measurements.
  4. The 24-bit resolution ADCs with -94 dB THD+N enable precise measurements.
  5. Filter and AC/DC coupling function for noise reduction.
  6. Supports our machine condition monitoring software (WebAccess/MCM) which offers multiple algorithms for data analysis, management, and data uploads to the cloud.

Advantech also offers a whole series of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 modules. USB-5800 series provide analog inputs / outputs, digital inputs / outputs, and relay functions respectively which can meet a wide range of application needs.
