Advantech announces a wave of updates in 2024
A wide range of its platforms including industrial ATX motherboards, PICMG 1.3 Full-Size Single Board Computers (SBC), Modular IPC, and Compact IPC will be upgraded to the latest 14th Gen. Intel® Core™ i9/i7/i5/i3 processors with up to 24 cores and 32 threads which will significantly boost computing performance by up to 23% with Max Turbo Frequency of up to 5.6 GHz. These systems are ideal upgrades for smart factory and machine automation, machine vision, transportation, and edge AI applications.
Next-Gen Elevation in Intel® Core™ Processor Architecture and Performance
The 14th Gen Intel® Core™ processor series features a performance hybrid architecture, integrating up to eight Performance-cores (P-cores) for enhanced workload consolidation, and up to sixteen Efficient-cores (E-cores) for improved background task management and multitasking. Moreover, it supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory with speeds up to 5600 MT/s (one DIMM per channel design), for high bandwidth and enhanced productivity, as well as continued DDR4 support of up to 3200 MT/s. With next-level I/O integration, the 14th Gen Intel® Core™ processors also offer up to 16 PCIe 5.0/ 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes for accelerated processing power and fast communication, delivering platform flexibility to handle a high number of simultaneous applications.
Comprehensive Product Lineup to Accelerate Edge Computing Applications
Advantech offers a comprehensive range of platforms tailored to harness the power of the 14th Gen Intel® Core™ processors. The mainstream ATX motherboards, AIMB-788E, AIMB-788, and AIMB-708 series, are upgraded to 14th Gen. Intel® Core™ processors for higher computing performance. Designed with abundant and versatile I/O, AIMB-788E is optimized with 2 x PCIex16, 2 x PCIe x8, 2 x PCIe x4, and a PCIe x1 slots to provide flexible expansion options including high-performance graphics cards and frame grabber cards. The support of high-speed DDR5 memory modules ensures that AIMB-788E to offer faster data transfer and better multitasking capabilities. The AIMB-788 and 708 series also feature numerous expansion slots, M.2 (NVMe), and DDR4-3200 memory, providing expansibility and effectiveness to satisfy a wide range of applications in industrial automation, AOI (automated optical inspection), and AI/AOI that require seamless upgrades, long-term support, proven reliability, and strict revision control. The upgrade also includes PCE-5133 and PCE-5033, these PICMG 1.3 full-size single board computers feature multiple backplanes, diverse I/O, and various expansion slots which deliver unrivaled flexibility and performance.
This major upgrade will also cover MIC-770 V3, IPC-320 and PCE-2133/2033. MIC-770 V3 is an embedded box IPC with high performance, modular and fanless design, which is perfect for deploying in heavy industrial hazardous environments. IPC-320 compact tower IPC features rich I/O and low noise (34dB) acoustics for quiet operation, providing a stable control console solution for factories. PCE-2133 and PCE-2033 are compact motherboards bundled sales with ultra-compact IPC-200 chassis series (IPC-220/240/242) designed for machine vision and motion control in equipment manufacturing and the semiconductor industry.
